Happy Social Work Month

March is Social Work month and since I am a social worker, I suppose it should be mentioned. I have written about my social work adventures several times before, so for old time sake, (or if you are really bored) you should read some of my past posts about social work. Like how I ended up here, a good day, a bad day, and days you just have to shake your head.

A couple of years ago I switched jobs and now I work with the littlest people in the hospital. The ones that joined their families in this a world a little (or a lot) too early. The ones that struggle those first few days, weeks, or months of life. Some of these little miracles start out their journey barely weighing a pound. It’s amazing to watch them grow and develop. It is a special place in the hospital I feel lucky to be a part of it. The truth is, I feel blessed to work in a job that I enjoy and feel fulfilled. I am so glad I can honestly say I like what I do.

So, Happy Social Work Month to me and all my fellow social workers. The work we do it worth celebrating!
