Mango Tango baby

A few things I learned or was reminded of on my vacation a few weeks ago (yes, I am finally posting).
  • I love the sound of the ocean, and relaxing in a hammock.
  • Middle aged Midwesterners who have had too much to drink = annoying, and slightly entertaining.
  • Massages really need to become a regular priority in my life.
  • Pepsi products are the subpar product in the soda world.
  • I am a Dr. Pepper (preferably diet) purest. There is no point in bothering with the rest of it.
  • Crazy meat concoctions with mystery sauce and the smell they produce are exactly why I sometimes contemplate becoming a vegetarian.
  • When in doubt, fresh fruit can substitute any meal (see reasons above).
  • A travel agent can be a great idea. Our room was BEAUTIFUL!
  • Snorkeling is still so much fun.
  • My body remembers how to obtain a tan.
  • Thankfully I am totally white compared to the leather look some of those folks are going for.
  • Turns out, Mango Tango is my drink of choice.
  • The little Mayan kids selling handkerchiefs at the ruins…STEAL MY HEART! (and their parents know it ;)
  • Sunshine is good for my mood and my skin.
  • Vegan sunscreen is worthless and makes you smell like dirt and incents. At least it was kind to the coral and the fish right?
  • I am a believer in Shellac for my nails.
  • Jump in the water and swim, even if you are a little nervous. Just do it. The cenote was incredible.
  • The water pressure in my shower is something I am grateful for.
  • I adore those maids that turned down my covers and left chocolate on my pillow.
  • Clubbing, still not my scene and not a temptation no matter how fun someone else thinks it is.
  • Hanging out with the bestie for days rocks.
  • Shiny tile looks beautiful but it is very slippery.
  • Enjoying a book "just because" is so nice.
  • I still get home sick.
  • Sometimes a vacation is exactly what I need.
and now, just a few of the hundreds of pictures we took. :)

Sunrises on the ocean are the absolute best.
Especially when this is what is right outside your window.
Our hotel was awesome.
Our room with two walls of windows overlooking the ocean.
The Rookie and her favorite drink
Checking out the cenote (a sink hole)
Then we swam in it.
Chichen-Itza.  Last time I was there you could climb all the pyramids.  Not anymore, but still an amazing place.
Remember the little Mayan children I mentioned?
Steal your heart right?
We purchased muu muus from their parents.
That water is so beautiful.
Oh Cancun, thank you.  Thank you for the lovliness that was our vacation.  It was perfect.  I will be back for sure.

    Dear Alice,

Rookie would like you to post again. Please obey her Royal Awesomeness.

Also, I agree about fruit, and I like the sombrero in this post.
